Hello, my name is Brent Goodlet and I teach Biology and Comprehensive Health at LOHS. I completed my undergraduate studies at the Colorado School of Mines in 2012 with a degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Then graduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara where in 2018 I earned a PhD in Materials Science. I enjoyed conducting research and have co-authored over a dozen peer-reviewed articles. But I find teaching science and helping others understand the world around us to be more rewarding and meaningful work — which is what brought me to LOHS. In my free time I love to run, walk, hike, bike, camp and generally spend time outdoors. I have a dog, a cat, a small fish tank, and many houseplants that help keep me busy while away from work; and when I am not tending to them I am often in the kitchen cooking vegetarian food like spicy tofu stir fry and black bean burgers.
