I am from Southwest Virginia, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  I grew up playing sports and spending much of my time outdoors.  I graduated from Roanoke College, where I studied English Literature and Spanish, played basketball for my school, and obtained my ELD teaching license. I’ve lived and taught in Spain, Virginia, Montana, and now 3 years in Colorado. Though I miss the Blue Ridge Mountains, I love exploring the Rockies. On weekends you will find me on a road trip or a hike!
Here at Legacy Options, I teach a class called “Med Prep” which is offered through an organization called The Hummingbird Initiative.  We seek to provide students with support and guidance to enter the healthcare field and to educate students about behavioral health. We study the ways that race, class, gender, and health intersect and hope our students will strive to be holistic healthcare professionals.  Graduates from our program leave with 3 college credits, several certifications, and a working relationship with healthcare professionals in Denver.
